De-thatching will create room for water and nutrients to penetrate the soil surface. And it will create soil surface room for new grass to grow, spread and dense up, resulting in a healthier, denser looking lawn. A dethatcher slices through the turf using steel flail blades and lifts the thatch to the surface. Word of warning: Your lawn will look worse before it gets better. You do not want to do this project days before hosting a special outdoor event.
With a 20-inch swath, it is capable of dethatching up to 10,000 square feet per hour, 52 heavy-duty flail blades make quick work of even thick, heavy thatch.
It also weighs only 140 pounds and has ball bearing wheels, so it's easy to control--even on rough lawns.
