This trencher is easy to handle and digs up to 18" deep and 3" wide. The unit is NOT self propelled and must be pulled backwards. This machine is ideal for putting in sprinkler water lines, phone, security or cable lines, or for edging garden beds. The ratcheting action of the wheels prevents the unit from creeping as the rock type digging chain cuts into the soil.
